We have often heard about menstrual disorders such as painful menstrual periods (dysmenorrhea), heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and absence of menstrual bleeding (amenhorrea) in women. Such disorders may occur due to natural factors such as hormonal imbalance, thyroid disorders, inflammation of the vagina or cervix etc. However, there is another type of abnormal uterine bleeding, which is known as metrorrhagia or intermenstrual bleeding. This type of vaginal bleeding occurs in between the normal menstrual periods and it is not related to menstruation in any way.
This fact has been highlighted in a hadith in which Hamna bint Jahsh had sought Prophet Mohammad (pbuh)’s opinion on the issue of bleeding beyond the menstruation period. Prophet Mohammad (pbuh)’s said, ‘Such a bleeding is the outcome of Shaitan’s stomping on a vein instead of the normal menses’. (Imam Ahmad and An- Nisai).
This hadith sheds light on an important fact about the vaginal bleeding which occurs in women between their monthly periods. According to the hadith this type of abnormal bleeding in women folk is the outcome of black magic. In another hadith Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) has warned us, ‘Shaitan circulates in man’s body like blood’. (Al-Bukharee: Fath Al-Bari:4/282). This hadith makes it amply clear that it is possible for Satan and his ilk to assault a human being by entering in their bodies. So the mechanism behind this type of black magic is that the black magic jinnat, at the behest of the tantrik, enters the female victim’s body and begins to circulate in her veins and arteries along with the blood. When the jinn locates a particular vein in the female victim’s body, he stomps it, thereby causing the victim to bleed outside her menstrual periods. Since this black magic induced intermenstrual bleeding has a paranormal facet so the medical science tends to misconstrue it. They attribute different reasons for it such as: vaginal dryness, cancer; growth in the cervix or uterus or some other serious underlying condition. However, we can be dead sure that it is caused by evil jinnat activity and not due to some natural factors- like it happens in the case of some other menstrual disorders.
In the final analysis, it depends on the victim whether she wishes to strike at the root cause of her disease and break the hex once and for all through spiritual healing or else do the rounds of hospitals and go through the rigmarole of tests, diagnosis and treatment options in search of an ‘underlying condition’.
